There’s just something about tea time that rushes me into relaxation. Nostalgic memories of my mother and grandma pouring big pots of English Breakfast and passing around a tray of goodies swirl through my mind every time I sit down for a cup. My siblings and I would come home from school and plop down at the kitchen table to jabber on about our days while scrambling to pass the milk and sugar. A couple of weeks ago Megan and I tried to plan a happy hour with our girl friends, but to our dismay everyone was busy. It then proceeded to hail golf ball sized pieces of ice in Houston, so the two of us decided to have a night in with cocktails and the HBO Go movie selection. The only problem was that we hadn’t necessarily planned for making cocktails, so every site we tried for “make a cocktail out of what you have in the house” resulted in needing to go to the store. We’re crafty and adventurous (obviously, noting the crazy Friday night we had planned), so we decided to wing it. Continue reading “Clementine Sunshine Cocktail Recipe”→
CHRISTMAS. EXCITEMENT. SUGAR OVERLOAD. BAKING STRESS. Words describing me trying to come up with an impressive, yet doable after work, baked good for my work Christmas party this week. Continue reading “White Chocolate Christmas Reese’s Recipe”→
So I’ve been working on a recipe for sometime now for y’all, but I didn’t want to share it until it was just right. I know, very generous of me to taste test batches upon batches of french fries and claim them not as a snack, but as a scientific baking experiment. That means the calories don’t count, right? With Thanksgiving only about a week away, recipes have been flying around left and right for the perfect turkey, the most incredible stuffing, and some “unique” version of apple pie. While everyone at the store is fighting you for the last can of pumpkin or the only turkey that isn’t 30 lbs (honestly, who has this many people to feed?), I’ve been hiding in the baking aisle just hoarding all the spices and a whole lot of powdered sugar. Guys, I’ve done a bad thing. I’m currently sitting in front of the TV watching Halloween Baking Challenge, writing this post, and eating Nutella straight out of the jar. Spoon, scoop, mouth. I have no clue what prompted my first Nutella purchase, but it happened and now I’m going through this jar like it’s my job. I probably knew this was a bad idea in the past, but I was incredibly hungry at the store, it was pouring outside and I wanted comfort food, and I finally took the plunge. Well, okay time to commit to this new love! Continue reading “Pumpkin Nutella Swirl Muffin Recipe”→
Over Labor Day, my mom offered to make me a breakfast sandwich that my brother Brian had introduced to her and the rest of my family. I didn’t know how it would be much different from any other breakfast sandwich, but I said yes nonetheless. Continue reading “Salami + White Cheddar Breakfast Sandwich Recipe”→
NOTE: I AM NOT TRYING TO RUSH YOU OUT OF SUMMER MODE.
But pumpkin spiced things are on their way and I am a-okay with that!
Instead of rushing out in the cold to your nearest Starbucks, why not try making a batch of latte’s for you and your friends in front of the fire? Mmmmm okay, I’m getting excited about the Fall now.
Whether it’s brewing up a hot pot of tea or a fireside apple cider cocktail, warm beverages with big cozy sweaters after a day raking up leaves really fills me with Autumn joy. Inspired Taste has come up with this homemade pumpkin spiced latte recipe, and I’m thinking it’s going to have to be on my to do list this season. Or y’all can try it out first and let me know how it goes!
But don’t worry, I still plan to eat as much watermelon and sit by the pool as many times as possible before it starts to cool off. Lucky for me it’s basically Summer all year long here in Texas!
