Smoothies are so sneaky. I absolutely love that I can throw tons of fruits and vegetables into a blender and all you taste is sweet yumminess. It’s like taking a salad and ending up with ice cream. If that isn’t everything you’ve ever wanted, I don’t know what is! As we head into a week of rain and more possible flooding here in Houston, I am stocking my body up with good things like this Berry Beet Smoothie (knowing I will be stocking it with beans and canned tuna if the power subsides…). Vanilla Chai Tea Bundt Cake Recipe
A couple of months ago I was approached by Adagio Teas to try out their products and make a few items for my blog. My first sponsored post, how fantastic! Overjoyed and overly excited I hopped over to their website and ordered a bundle of different teas. I then proceeded to take a multitude of vacations and got extremely busy at work and had no time to try them out… until now! Continue reading “Vanilla Chai Tea Bundt Cake Recipe”
Sparkles and Roses Cake Decorating Tutorial
Great Gatsby screams decadence. The more expensive flair, jewels, pearls, glitter, alcohol, and craziness the better. Since all birthdays center around cakes for me, I volunteered for another double decker creation for Megan’s birthday that I wanted to go all out on. I found a picture on Pinterest of a gorgeous cake from a Wuthering Heights themed wedding, and Megan loved it…with the exception of the big pink flowers. Brunch at Mark’s: Southern Eggs Benedict and Honey Roasted Grapefruit Recipes
A week back, Kyle and I went on a trip to visit a good friend of ours in DC. Being the lovely host that he is, as well as a cooking aficionado eager to take me up on joint blog post, Mark treated us to the most fantastic brunch! Ideas swirled back and forth the week before we arrived, and we settled on this perfection of a brunch: Southern Style Eggs Benedict (of sorts) accompanied by honey roasted ruby red grapefruit. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. Continue reading “Brunch at Mark’s: Southern Eggs Benedict and Honey Roasted Grapefruit Recipes”
Baking Cookies in Monstrous Proportions: Monster Cookie Recipe
There are so many cookie recipes out there, it’s hard to say I have a favorite. I’m a sucker for a fantastic peanut butter cookie recipe (check mine out here). Then there are oatmeal raisin that are so comforting and make the entire house smell like grandma’s. A classic fallback are good ole chocolate chip cookies, which I tend to make the most. But really, why pick one when you could have them all? Continue reading “Baking Cookies in Monstrous Proportions: Monster Cookie Recipe”
Hawaiian Coconut Pineapple Crumble Recipe
Being in Hawaii for Spring Break was incredibly inspiring. I can see why artists go on extravagant adventures to places they’ve never been before. Getting to experience such a unique culture in Maui was eye opening and exciting! I saw new animals, ate new foods, smelled new plants, and breathed the ocean air in a way I never had before.
