Christmas morning is possibly the best morning of the entire year. My siblings and I have always lined up at the top of the stair (even as our horizontal growing has made it quite a tight squeeze), and then rushed down to the glorious site of the tree all lit up, hot chocolate on the stove, and presents galore! Though present opening takes a good 3 hours and chocolate and candy canes seem like enough breakfast to tide us over until dinner, a fabulous breakfast treat is never turned away. Peanut Butter and Cocoa Swirl Cookies Recipe
Peanut butter cookies are some of my absolute favorite cookies of all time. My mom shared the Betty Crocker recipe with me when I was young, and I fell in love with the crunchy outside and gooey inside that only the perfect combo of Crisco and butter can give. Crisco may seem gross to some, but it’s a miracle worker. Continue reading “Peanut Butter and Cocoa Swirl Cookies Recipe”
Happy National Cookie Day
With holidays in abundance ranging from national burger day to national cat day (yes, these are real holidays), it only seems fair that there would be a national cookie day. Cookies are amazing, obviously, and are such a staple that everyone loves! Can you think of anyone who doesn’t like cookies?
In honor of national cookie day, bake some up with you favorite cookie loving friends. Here are just a few of the recipes I’ve shared on my blog you could try!
Also, a sneak peek at the cookies I will be posting a recipe for next week: Peanut Butter Cocoa Swirl Cookies. You may just have to celebrate national cookie day again next Tuesday…
Thumbprint Cookies – Perfect for Christmas coming up! These are my favorite buttery, jam filled cookies of the season.
Oreo Reese’s – Are they cookies? Are they candy? Does it really matter? You don’t even have to bake to make a batch of them, and they pair two godly desserts into one.
Cookie Dough Truffles – Another non-baking cookie recipe. Simple, fast, and addicting!
Fireside Apple Cider Recipe

It’s my most favorite time of year. The leaves have changed colors, the air is clear and brisk, and all I want to do is be next to the fire with a huge cable-knit sweater, a great read, and a big ‘ole cup of apple cider. Being that I no longer live in a house with my parents, I am sadly down one fireplace, but excitedly up one fiery drink. If you’re looking for the perfect Fall beverage that will warm you from head to toe like the best down comforter, snuggling puppy, and cinnamon candle adorned coffee table all mixed into one, I’ve gone and found it for you! Candy Corn Rice Crispy Treats Recipe
I’m a huge rice crispy treat fan. They’re incredibly quick to make and you only need a few ingredients that seem to never go bad, so you can always have them all on hand! They also lend themselves well to being creatively changed and molded. Since I’m having a pretty large group of friends over for a Halloween soiree, I decided to get a little crazy with the treats. Candy corn crazy. Continue reading “Candy Corn Rice Crispy Treats Recipe”

The Simplest Butter Pecan Toffee Recipe
Whenever I come home to Chicago, I know I can ask my family for help with taste testing. Dabbling in candy making has been on my mind, and seeing as it’s one of my dad’s favorites, I tried my hand at a toffee recipe. Continue reading “The Simplest Butter Pecan Toffee Recipe”
Lemon Zucchini Cake Recipe – It counts as a vegetable.
It’s a bread! It’s a cake! It’s…a vegetable? Well, it has vegetables in it and it definitely tastes like a cake, so I say we can count it as a serving of both. Continue reading “Lemon Zucchini Cake Recipe – It counts as a vegetable.”
