Let’s Play 20 Questions

I’m all about games. So when Shauna from Rae of Sparkles asked me to play, I decided I was up for it! She always has a fun snippet of advice, an adorable DIY, or an exorbitantly nice comment for me (seriously too nice!) so I couldn’t let her down. Below I answer her 20 questions…maybe you’ll find something in there you’d been wondering about…

20 Questions

What’s your nickname? A lot of my friends call me Julia Mommy…though Bunny Baubles is catching on!

How tall are you? 5’9″

How old are you? 24

Birth place? Little old Libertyville, IL. Born and raised! Though these days it’s become quite the fancy place I never knew it to be as a child…it’s so fun going home!

Ancestral home? So many places it’s hard to remember…mostly Ireland with some German, Austrian, Czech, English…and maybe some others?

Favorite color? I’m all about color in all forms, though I tend to lean on greens the most. I think I love the natural aspect of it.

Favorite verse in the Bible? I don’t have a favorite verse per say, I grew up with more focus on the stories and their message. I like hearing them all from time to time as they have different meaning to me at different times of my life. Good thing for church!

Favorite cuisine? Do sandwiches count? I love them for all meals. I also love dessert…also not a cuisine. This is a bad question for me!

Favorite artist? I recently went to a Monet on the Seine exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and was blown away! I love that the paintings change depending on your view-point, and the light is amazing.

Strangest talent? Does planning parties count? If I had infinite money I would plan a party every week!

Drink of choice? I’m always up for a fun, new cocktail. I have been obsessed with Moscow Mules lately! Maybe a recipe post to come on that one later…

Biggest dream? Traveling the world, without worrying about affording it. <- Stealing this from Shauna!

How do you take your coffee? A generous amount of milk and a teaspoon of sugar. A good cappuccino is my favorite though.

Currently obsessed with? Anything made with Carrera marble. Clocks,  kitchen counters, phone cases…anything!

Biggest fear? Getting Alzheimer’s… it runs in my family and is such a sad disease.

Something you never thought you would get to do? Live somewhere where it’s warm in the winter. Growing up in Chicago I was always dreaming of beaches in the winter, and now I live in sunny Houston!

Humanitarian cause? There are a lot of good causes. Growing up my family focused on homeless shelters which I found really rewarding. I’ve also always been a supporter of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis as well since I had it as a kid.

Skill you would like to learn?  So I really wanted to know how to play guitar, but I feel like my hands are too small to reach the strings! I might try again…but I’m not sure I have the drive for it. Also, my boyfriend  has been working on teaching me to drive stick shift which I think is an important skill to have!

Experience you want to have? Sit at a Parisian cafe with a cappuccino and a croissant, followed by a walk though the gardens and museums of Paris. There’s something so romantic about it that I can’t let go.

Something random about yourself? I’m really into cleaning and organizing. It’s relaxing to know that everything is in its place and clean!

One Lovely Bunny Blog Award

lovely-blog-award-1

If there’s one thing I’ve come to love about blogging, it’s the amazing reader and blogger base I’ve found on WordPress and other blogs. We let each other into our lives, hoping someone might care or learn something from our rambling and iPhone snaps; and amazingly a few of you out there read all these crazy, crafty, bunny filled posts and get something out of them!

Thanks to the fantastic blogger base out there, I was nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award by one of my favorite WordPress bloggers, Rae of Sparkles! She’s a ton of fun, awesomely crafty, and you know how I feel about sparkles… you should most definitely check out her page.

Blogging has been a lot of fun for me, and I’m so glad it’s been fun for all of your too! Thanks, especially, for the people who keep the posts coming…if y’all didn’t show up to my ridiculous parties, take turns taking dumb photos of me crafting, or listen to me ramble about my failures of projects I would have given up a long time ago. This has been more fun than I could  have ever imagined, so thank you all for that!

So the rules of this shindig include sharing seven things about myself (bare with me) and nominating my other favorite bloggers. So here goes!

Seven Oh-So-Interesting (ha!) Things about Myself…

1. I’ve spent the last 4 months painting my nails every week to try and break my nail biting habit. Results: nails are longer for sure, but I definitely start biting again the second one nail chips… I can’t seem to stop!

2. A dream of mine is to buy and renovate an entire crummy house. It also totally freaks me out not knowing what I would find and how much that would cost me…

3. I admit to playing that Kim Kardashian phone game… And I’m not gonna lie, it’s awesome.

4. Secretly, and now not so much, I can’t wait for my friends to have babies so I can make them adorable clothing. I suppose that requires any of them to get married first. 😉

5. I have a serious aversion to buying clothing that isn’t on sale… I really can’t remember the last full priced item I’ve purchased.

6. I think 12 year old me would be ashamed of 24 year old me knowing the last time I spent a decent amount of time learning how to use makeup was… like 12 years ago… I’m just so lazy!

7. Projects I’m scared and amazingly excited to start (so who knows when they’ll happen): building a headboard, baking macaroons, and making a coffee table.

Other Nominated Bloggers

There are some TALENTED people out there blogging, and I’m so glad they do! Recently I’ve found these other blogs. They really inspire me to use better photography, try new things, and even try harder when I get dressed in the morning. Thanks for all of your amazing posts!

Salted Kitchen puts out some consistently mouth watering recipes. Her photos are also to die for, teach me your ways!

JuJu’s Secret Ingredient has been making these macaroons that I can’t get over. She also gives very detailed instructions that are inspiring enough to try out the recipes yourself!

Savory/Sweet/Style does it all, providing very detailed recipes, crafts, and most recently a hilarious bunch of Halloween pics. I also love her Friday Flower posts!

Skinny Sweet Treats is my newest obsession! Her recipes are really fun and the photos are superb.

Oops! This is embarrassing…

Sorry readers! I meant to post a wee bit of bunny loving today but I seem to have lost my pictures somehow… I’m on vacation from my computer so forgive me for not fixing the post, stay tuned for a lot of cuteness tomorrow! I promise it’s worth the wait. 🙂

Bunny Baubles Liebster Award Nomination!

liebster_award_badges

Thanks to my little following’s help, I got some recognition with a nomination for the Liebster Award! This is an award for a small blog (less than 200 followers) to help it get some screen time. The lovely vintagebarbie17 nominated me for this award, and I’m now going to make some nominations myself! Continue reading “Bunny Baubles Liebster Award Nomination!”
