I’m always looking for pieces to add to my closet that can transition over multiple seasons. The trick is finding colors and patterns that aren’t too specific to one season. Although most floral prints are only appropriate for the Spring time, I found a great one at Joann’s that included darker purples and greens that work really well with the earthy tones that the Fall is known for. Fri-DIY: Lace Love

I am beyond obsessed with quality DIY sewing blogs. Women who make fashionable pieces by hand, especially awesome, simple items, are my constant inspiration. I’ve been following Geneva from A Pair and A Spare for a while now, and she puts together detailed tutorials for beautiful clothes I always want to make!
While scrolling through her projects, I stumbled across this lace pencil skirt and instantly put it on my sewing to-do list. Simple, sexy, and surprisingly versatile, I am pumped to try this project out. Let me know if you try this project or any of the other’s on her site this weekend! WARNING: You will be sucked in by the amazing projects you will find on this site… Happy weekend bunnies!
Seersucker Off the Shoulder Summer Dress Sewing Tutorial
There’s nothing like stepping out into the Summer sun and feeling the deep heat radiate on to your shoulders. I may be one of the only crazy ones, but I love feeling the wall of humid heat here in Houston hit me as I leave the house. Maybe it’s the stark contrast to the frozen air conditioned spaces that we confine ourselves to, or maybe it’s just that the heat relaxes me into a sense of vacation, but I love it just the same. DIY Fit and Flare Sun Dress Sewing Tutorial
Spring is here and that means my jeans are going into hibernation. Weather that allows me to not wear pants is the best. Though I have quite a few dresses, I have a couple that I tend to gravitate toward every time I reach into my closet. My faves tend to be:
1. Colorful! If I only get one piece of clothing, I’m not about to make it boring.
2. Comfortable. None of this tight everywhere or super short business. I just don’t end up wearing those ones very much.
3. Flattering. If you feel good in it, you’ll always want to wear it! Continue reading “DIY Fit and Flare Sun Dress Sewing Tutorial”
DIY Off the Shoulder Dress Sewing Tutorial
As promised from my Instagram (@bunnybaubles), I’m giving you another dress tutorial! I hadn’t been doing much fashion sewing lately since my home decor and baked goods were keeping me occupied, but I caught the sewing bug again and got to designing this last week! This tutorial is great because it only requires four pieces to be sewn together, and you can also shorten this pattern into a shirt if you’d like. Save the Sunnies: DIY Sunglasses Sleeve Sewing Tutorial
During a fabulous day floating down the Guadalupe River with some great friends, I slipped my head back to relax and tragically lost my favorite sunnies to the water. Ok, they were only $15 sunglasses, but as I squinted all the way home from Austin, I HAD to detour before going home to pick up some new ones…and found the exact same pair I had purchased before at Urban at Target!
