Halloween always makes me want to bring out a side that no one expects. Being a puppy loving, smile adorned, and (usually) non-aggressive type, Cruella Deville was the perfect opposite character for me. Continue reading “DIY Cruella Deville Costume”

Everyone wants to be a celebrity! And when a celebrity basically doesn’t have a face, it turns out you can replicate their look into a costume pretty much to a tee.

Every party needs some good appetizers. Something the host can easily make almost completely ahead of time and leave out for guests as they arrive.
When I opened up my October Degustabox and found not one, but TWO bags of Chicago style bagel chips, I had to hold myself back from just ripping them open and chowing down. One bag was garlic flavored and the other cinnamon flavored – the perfect basis for a dueling sweet and savory appetizer!

Artwork is something that I don’t think you need to stop acquiring. This is something I learned from my parents growing up, as they would buy one new piece of art for every anniversary. If a room needed refreshing, they would take one piece down and grab another out of storage. Though I love my herringbone brick artwork, I stumbled upon a piece of art that I REALLY wanted for my living room.

I’m going to be honest with y’all – I have never had a pumpkin spiced latte. I KNOW! AM I EVEN ENJOYING THE FALL SEASON? I guess it’s probably because I make most of my tea and coffee at home, so I’ve never made my way out to Starbucks to try one.
Not to worry though, I am always stuffing myself with pumpkin breads, cupcakes, and any other baked good that can be packed with pumpkin throughout the months of October and November. I think it’s time, however, to introduce a new pumpkin family member to the bunch. The pumpkin pie cocktail.

When it comes to jewelry, I can be pretty picky. I’m not into huge statement pieces or the teeny tiny delicate ones. I like a little color and a little bit of sparkle, and it has to be comfortable to wear (you will never find me wearing stacked rings). Oh, and I’m working with that beer budget, y’all. In order to get something I loved at a great price, I went out and made my own!

October is here which means it is COSTUME TIME! I actually made this for my Oktoberfest themed birthday party, but it works just as well as a Halloween costume for the upcoming festivities. Really, you can get two events worth of costumes out of this, does it get any better than that?
October is HERE! October is one of the best months of the year in Houston. The weather is heavenly, and I’ll be spending every moment I can at outdoor cafes and reading on my porch. Oh, and prepping for Halloween, obviously! Costumes are coming…
September was not without its highlights, though. I had an incredible time celebrating Oktoberfest for my 26th birthday, and I started making comfort food to prep for the Fall season. I’m so thankful for having a whirlwind of a month with a ton of good friends and family.
Check out my September favorites to make sure you didn’t miss anything!
