As promised from my Instagram (@bunnybaubles), I’m giving you another dress tutorial! I hadn’t been doing much fashion sewing lately since my home decor and baked goods were keeping me occupied, but I caught the sewing bug again and got to designing this last week! This tutorial is great because it only requires four pieces to be sewn together, and you can also shorten this pattern into a shirt if you’d like. Trendy Home Decor: DIY Geometric Gold Painted Tray
Happy New Years, bunnies! I’m not big on New Years resolutions per say, but I am big on New Years cleaning and purging of junk. I love getting rid of things because it makes room for new, beautiful projects! Continue reading “Trendy Home Decor: DIY Geometric Gold Painted Tray”
Tacky Christmas Skirt DIY Costume
Christmas always seems to sneak up on me down here in Houston. The hot weather and the craziness of yearly deadlines at work seems to distract me from the cheery season around me! Even my tree this year turned into a Christmas bush covered in little bows… a little pathetic, but also somehow super fun, don’t you think? Continue reading “Tacky Christmas Skirt DIY Costume”
Alice in Wonderland Rabbit DIY Costume
This Halloween, I knew I needed to get a head start. Last year it crept up on me and my costume was thrown together in a fury. The minion look turned out pretty adorably, yet it wasn’t super original, and it was more stressful of an experience than I’d hoped for. Continue reading “Alice in Wonderland Rabbit DIY Costume”
Modern Gilded Mirror DIY
Megan and I moved last week! Although moving is tremendously painful for us to have just relocated upstairs in our building, we gained an incredible view of downtown Houston and lowered our rent. We’re quite please with our new place. Moving is also a great thing to do, in my opinion, because you really clear out the stuff you don’t really need. I was able to finally raid my closet of old clothes from high school and things that never got unpacked from my first move. It also inspired a redecoration movement… a cheap DIY one at that! Save the Sunnies: DIY Sunglasses Sleeve Sewing Tutorial
During a fabulous day floating down the Guadalupe River with some great friends, I slipped my head back to relax and tragically lost my favorite sunnies to the water. Ok, they were only $15 sunglasses, but as I squinted all the way home from Austin, I HAD to detour before going home to pick up some new ones…and found the exact same pair I had purchased before at Urban at Target! Simple Alteration DIY: Button Up Shirt Sewing Tutorial
Button up shirts seem to be troublesome for many men in my life. Whether it’s that the shirt is too wide, the sleeves are too baggy, or the cost of one that fits in all locations is too outrageous to bother, it’s all annoying. American brands tend to build their shirts for huge Texan men, while those poor, thinner framed city boys have to hit the designer stores or more expensive European brands for a fitted button up. Even stores boasting their tall and slim options don’t seem to measure up. So what’s a guy to do? Continue reading “Simple Alteration DIY: Button Up Shirt Sewing Tutorial”
